Photo Essay

My topic for the Photo Presentation was volleyball.  Though I love the sport, taking pictures was very difficult due to my sprained ankle.  I enjoyed this assignment and overall I would love to do it again.

Career FOOD!

One thing I liked about learning about food was taking pictures from the forks point of view.  I thought that was very interesting.  I also learned that you should have pictures of food in a food setting; when it is near the kitchen or the dining room

Photojournalism

Ansel Adams:
I chose him because I like the way he takes landscape pictures.  When I look at one of his shots, I feel like I am really there.  Adam takes pictures of Yosemite National Park and is known for his scientific photography.

Baaron Wolman:
Wolman took many pictures during the Rock-N' Roll Era.  I enjoy looking through his photos because I can feel the intensity or the calmness of the singers.  His shots really bring out the performers personalities.

Dorthea Lange:
Lange took one of the most famous pictures of all time during The Great Depression.  Her pictures bring out the stress and sorrow people were feeling at that time.  In my eyes, her shots are realistic.  She captures the moment of the Great Depression very well.

Robert Doisneau:
He took many picutres in France and they were very "playful" pictures.  I enjoy looking at the shots of the little kids because they show their true personalities.  It's like they ignore the camera completley and act as though no one is around.  Doisneau really takes good pictures of youth.

Steve McCurry:
Like Lange, Steve McCurry takes really good pictures of peoples emotions.  In the picture I chose, the Afghan Girl, you could really feel the intensity in her eyes and the pain she is feeling.  I can really sense the stress she has in this one shot.
